I really hope they won't, but I always feel a kind of like Sisyphus, when I've got back to back conventions.  That's right!  Two!  In two weeks!  This weekend, I'll be in Raleigh, NC at Animazement!  Where I plan to rock the face off the town, because I don't know any other way.  Afterwards I'll be immediately flying out to the great state of Texas and the city of Dallas for the very first time to party on with the attendees of A-Kon!  It's going to be an intense couple of weeks.  And I hope to see at least a few of you in that time!  The rest of you:  party on.

Totally seen you at Animazement with my friends that bought your Alice picture. He actually bought a frame before we got back home and now needs to hang it up.

holy shit, I don't how you can afford to go to all these cons at once, but best of luck with them!

Garth, we'll be taking care of you here in Raleigh. I've got somewhere between 2 and 12 beers with your name on them.

Darn! I'm going to miss Animazement this year! That was already a bad thing, but it's even worse now that I know I'm going to miss you 'rocking the face of the town,' maybe next year :)

Well, shit. I might HAVE to go to AZ now. That print I bought off of you a few years ago is looking a bit lonely.

A group of sinister people wearing robes sit around a table.

1st Guy- Our plans are proceeding apace. Our take over of Starbucks is nearly complete. Soon we will also steal Mount Everest. What about Garth though?

2nd Guy- I've arranged for him to go to several more conventions.

1st Guy- Excellent. His demise is imminent.

Ah, the price we pay for our art....

;) things like sleep and free time and busy weekends. I think my fall is going to start looking like your two weeks did. O_O So much for Christmas shopping.

Question for you: How do you handle shipping your inventory when going conventions that are a few states away. As in, You need a plane to get there because driving would be mind numbing murder.

I ask because I'm starting to cautiously eye conventions like GenCon and MegaCon.

See you around. ;) Haven't seen or heard from each other in a while. Such is a busy life!

Actually Dallas is my first con where I've had to fly. And thankfully my set up actually does (after some judicious pruning) compact down into a couple of (admittedly heavy) bags. So, at least for now I should be able to check all my gear, which may or may not be cheaper than shipping, but is certainly simpler. Eventually though, I'm sure I'm going to have to just ship a small mountain of boxes to the hotel I'm staying at. But I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Back-to-back cons are definitely rough! I think my worst so far has been 6 back-to-back, all in different states (none of them in my home state) where I had an Artist Alley table at each con.

I crashed HARD the week after my last con in that run. I try not to get myself into that position anymore, if I can help it.

I highly recommend vitamin supplements (particularly C and Zinc) and lots of water!

I remember the one year I had like, five in the span of two months. Granted, I was just going to go, I didn't have a table or anything. Also, hi, maybe I'll actually go to a convention again and get to say hi in person!
